[Self]Portrait of American Debt is a ready made sculpture of nearly 100 identical mailed envelopes sent to me and delivered in one bundle. The letter inside was a bill from an anonymous collection agency for the amount of $398. At first I wasn't sure how I had incurred this debt, but soon realized that it was the bill for an ambulance ride to the hospital I had taken earlier that year.
Whether by deliberate brute force, or by mistake in their automated printing system, the collection agency had sent me a hefty supply of physical spam.
